Our Story

At Avodah Family Farm, we believe food is more than something we consume, it's a gift from God that should be produced with integrity, cared for with excellence, and shared in service to others.

The name Avodah (pronounced ah-VOH-dah) comes from the Hebrew word that encompasses work, worship, and service (Genesis 2:15, Exodus 7:16, Joshua 24:15). Those three ideas shape everything we do. We believe farming isn't just our occupation; it's one way we worship God by faithfully stewarding His creation and serving the families He places in our community.

We are a family-owned farm in Crown Point, Indiana, committed to raising pasture-raised poultry using regenerative farming practices inspired by Lunatic Farmer Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm. Our chickens are moved to fresh pasture every day, where they enjoy sunshine, fresh air, and room to express their natural behaviors. In return, they naturally fertilize the land, helping restore healthy soil instead of depleting it.

Our goal has never been to become the biggest farm.

Our goal is to become a trusted farm.

We want to know the families who gather around their dinner tables with food we've raised. We want our children to grow up learning the value of honest work, faithful stewardship, and serving others.
